Dear supporters,
Well, the results are in and I lost my race by a full 2-1, margin a landslide by any measure. Sometimes, I'm afraid, the results are not indicative of the effort. Thanks to the help and support that I was provided, I was able to run a very strong campaign. Those that supported me helped me: raise money; put up 100+ yard signs; SPEND money (not always as easy as it sounds); doorknock; phone call; debate prep; yard signs; walk in parades; and provide moral support.
In the end, we knocked on over 5,000 doors, made almost 1,000 phone calls, raised and spent over $21K, dominated the debates (but I'm a little biased) and kept everything above board the whole way. I'm proud of the work we did and the campaign that we ran. While I didn't win, I did outperform the other Republicans in my district. Again, a testimony to our hard work.
Thanks again. I truly appreciate your support. I regret that I couldn't pull through for us. Alas, my opponent and other winds of resistance proved too strong. I wish Ryan the best of luck over the next two years, and I will stand behind him 100%. I will let him know when I think he is wrong, but I won't criticize him for doing what he thinks is right. He is a good man and he will do his best for our district, that much I know for certain.
